Located, as the name would suggest, on Gibraltar’s eastern edge of the Rock, this area has predominantly been designated to industrial and light industrial zoning in the area of Devils Tower Road. Gibraltar’s three main beaches, are also located on the East side of the Rock. Eastern Beach, Catalan Bay and Sandy Bay are the most popular beaches in Gibraltar. Catalan Bay enjoys a village type atmosphere with various small developments located in the area. There are various residential developments such as Caltree House, North View Terrace and Wellington Court in the district with the recent addition of Beach View Terraces, a new affordable housing estate of approx. 500 units. Proposals to invest sizeable monies into the area are very much underway with the Blue Water project, which entails the reclamation of 112,000sqm of land banking with additional super yacht facilities / marina, as well as affordable and luxury developments, mixed use developments and Hotel.
